American Airlines Chairman Doug Parker hates inflight entertainment, I once heard him say he wishes it was never invented. They’re expensive and they’re heavy to they cause extra fuel burn.

Indeed, American’s Samsung Galaxy Tabs are a real savings compared to inflight entertainment, and Alaska Airlines’ Dig-E Players and Gogo Vision solutions are as well.

Parker’s US Airways, of course, was the airline that removed inflight power ports to save fuel.
